I finally decided that I had enough of telecallers taking control of my life. Continued to get calls despite registering in the “Do Not Disturb” registry. Plus am very unsure on if many of the sites out there which collects your phone no to register on the DND registry are the real thing or if it’s some data collection agency collecting your phone no.
And I don’t have the time to be filing cases or to be following up multiple times with very unresponsive customer service departments .
So here we go on the solution i am currently using. I use a Nokia E71 and it comes with a default free application called Advanced Call Manager. The application is also available for Blackberry. This software allows you to create different lists with settings on the kind of action you want to apply when you receive a call from a number on one of the lists.
Eg: you create a list called “blacklist“. And whenever any number from this list calls up, the “Advanced Call Manager” automatically disconnects the call.
The objective of this piece is to list down all the numbers I have gathered till now and which i have fed into my personal list of phone nos whose calls i would rather not receive. I am located in Mumbai and therefore most of these nos are from Mumbai. Will be great if everyone could contribute to the list for everyone’s benefit.
